If you’re a fan of soccer (football to Europeans) then you might be wondering where you can watch the big matches in Raleigh. Although not the most popular sport here, there’s no shortage of places to watch soccer in Raleigh – in fact, this city embraces all sports, so no matter your interests, there will be several locations playing the games in the city.

Arguably some of the best places to watch soccer are at one of the British, Irish or European style bars, you will find the atmosphere way more electric and authentic. It’s a unique buzz you can’t help but love! Below are a few places to check out and the respective teams they support.

The Brass Tap Craft Beer Bar

With its industrial-chic look and large row of HD televisions behind the bar and other large TVs spaced throughout the premises, including out on their patio, The Brass Tap is a top spot to catch a game of soccer. A bright and modern space in the heart of downtown Raleigh with floor to ceiling windows, it has a great community vibe.

On game day, it reminds us so much of pub life in England and Ireland. The Brass Tap is the official home of the Raleigh Liverpool supporters club (LFC Raleigh), but all teams’ fans are welcome of course and only enhance the fun rivalry atmosphere! They also play matches by other teams, so don’t think you have to be cheering on the Reds to go here.

They have an awesome list of 45 craft beers on tap, plus a full liquor bar, and an excellent bar food menu including burgers, pizza, wings, tacos, sandwiches, salads, a brunch and lunch menu, and their large buttery pretzels are a must order!

The Brass Tap can get packed inside for the big games during the FIFA World Cup or European cup finals, and for more breathing room, you can even pull up a chair in the outdoor patio area where you’ll be able to watch the game through the large windows.

My Way Tavern

This is where the local Chelsea FC supporters club (RDU Blues) meet to watch matches (other fans welcome of course). So, if you love the EPL, check it out. Plenty of TVs to watch the games, inside and outside tables. The main focal point of the tavern is their horseshoe style bar from which you can enjoy 22 draft beers on tap (15 brewed in NC), in addition to more than 50 bottles and a fully stocked bar. 

The menu includes signature items like Red Zinfandel Braised Ribs and the My Way Cajun Chicken, plus great looking burgers, sandwiches, Mac-n-cheese, and one of the best fish & chips I’ve had in the Raleigh area. The wings are good too!

Hibernian, Glenwood Ave & North Raleigh

Another great pub in Raleigh to watch the soccer is the legendary Hibernian Pub. Being an Irish Pub they show English Premier League Football and 6 Nations Rugby games, which we’ve seen plenty on in their Glenwood Ave Location. This location is a two-story establishment with a rooftop patio. It’s a top spot to watch the game if you’re craving typical Irish fare like Shepherd’s Pie, Corned Beef & Cabbage, Fish’n Chips and of course a Guiness. They also have a North Raleigh location near Lafayette Village.

Olé Sports Bar & Lounge

Manchester United fans should head to Olé Sports Bar & Lounge, the official home of the MUFU Raleigh Reds. While they meet at Ole, the supporters club is entirely independent of the bar. Manchester United is one of the most supported clubs in the world, and whetehr you’re a local MU fan or visiting from out of town, you’ll find your tribe at Ole – check out their Instagram and Facebook pages. Ole is a high-energy sports bar in Raleigh built for fans, friends, and unforgettable nights with wall-to-wall TVs, premium drinks, and an electric atmosphere.

Pearl and Peril

If you’re an Arsenal fan, you will want to head down to the Pearl and Peril, a pirate-themed cocktail bar in Raleigh that also doubles as the HQ for Arsenal supporters, The Triangle Gooners. This dark and rustic looking dive bar wouldn’t look out of place on the streets of London, with dark wood interiors and burgundy chesterfield sofas, but with several high-res TV screens scattered around every wall, it makes the perfect atmosphere for watching a soccer match. Don’t let the cozy sofas and fairy lights fool you into thinking this is a cozy tavern though, it has a wild reputation as a party bar – offering booty shots, live DJs, and lots of energy. If you want to make a soccer match day a night to remember, this is the venue to head to.

The Winchester Pub & Bottleshop, North Raleigh

Labeling themselves as a Futbol-Forward, Craft-Aligned pub-style bottle shop, the Windchester in North Raleigh will give you a cozy atmosphere to watch the game paired with craft beer.  There’s no food here, but they are okay with you bringing something in from the nearby eateries. This is where the Everton FC fans, the Carolina Toffees, meet for their watch parties, however it’s also a good pub to watch the soccer if you don’t support a particular team – they always have a game playing even if it’s not Everton.

Trali Irish Pub & Restaurant

Trali Irish Pub & Restaurant is another pub that plays European soccer matches on the big screen. It’s one of the best places to watch European football, from the Champions League to the FIFA World Cup. This is a quintessential Irish pub with traditional Irish folk music playing through the venue and hearty, UK style dishes on the menu. Owned by Eamonn Kelly from County Galway, this is one of the most authentic Irish pubs you will find in Raleigh – and for soccer fans, you won’t find a better poured pint of Guinness to enjoy with the big game!

Fortnight Brewing, Cary & Wake Forest

Another English themed bar showing soccer games is Fortnight Brewing in Cary. This brewery started after the English owner missed a pint of the traditional English Ale. Who wouldn’t want to drink a pint of traditional, locally brewed, English cask ale while watching soccer? English Ale is Life. The Terminal Bar is an open event and bar space with TVs and an outdoor seating area attached. It’s a regular place we like to hang out, especially in the summer. It’s family-friendly for those who have kids who love soccer and there are usually food trucks every day.

Doherty’s Irish Pub (4 locations)

Doherty’s has four locations in Wake County: Apex, Cary, Holly Springs, and Pittsboro. This Irish Pub often has game day specials including deals on buckets of Yuengling, cheaper drafts and deals on their great wings. This neighborhood pub is a favorite for it’s warm, friendly, and homey atmosphere (the Irish way) and it’s classically delicious Irish menu. The Irish owner takes pride in pouring a proper pint of Guinness. There is just no other way to drink it.

Liquid Beverage Co, Cary

A neighborhood bar with a sporting focus, especially for the English Premier League, is Liquid Beverage Co in Cary. It’s a small intimate space with several TVs behind the bar and in two different seating areas. They serve a range of mostly local draft brews on tap, including cider, and my favorite Untitled Art, prickly pear. The bar staff here are very friendly and passionate about sports, especially soccer! They also have cans in the fridge for sale, and they sell wine by the glass or bottle. They have previously shown all the Euro and Copa soccer matches. On Sunday’s they have $5 pints (including the seltzer!). This is the home of the Newcastle United fans support group, the Toon Army Raleigh!

R&D Brewing

A brewery with a sporting heart, R&D Brewing’s Seven Saturday Taproom is home to the Manchester City FC supporters club in Raleigh. It has a laid-back yet lively atmosphere and is known for its craft brews and welcoming vibe. The spacious taproom, complete with large screens and a modern ambiance, makes it easy to get immersed in the game while you sip house-brewed beers. The brewery often has food trucks on-site, so you can grab a tasty bite while enjoying the match.

The One Nine, Cary

Are you cheering on the Blues with the Raleigh Spurs? Tottenham Fans (also known as Spurs) head over to Cary to the new and swanky One Nine bar. It’s a small and elevated bar with polished wood interiors and warm lighting, but has several large HD TVs cladding the bar, giving you multiple viewing options. It also serves simple but tasty bar food such as onion rings and wings.

Hoppy Endings

For big events such as the FIFA World Cup, Hoppy Endings is a good place to go. It has a community, joyful atmosphere and giant TVs behind the bar. It boasts the largest collection of bourbon, whisky and scotch in the Southeast U.S. with 1500+ options to choose from, as well as having also has over 500 varieties of craft and specialist beers. On tap, there is 18 beers, which feels small compared to the amount of bottles on shelves around you. There are also regular food trucks parked outside.

Sports & Social, Cary

Sports & Social is a chain of sports bars that have venues all over the country. In Wake County, the nearest one to Raleigh is Fenton in Cary, which has an extensive menu with comfort food, as well as game-day specials. Watch a soccer match in style with a 42-foot LED media wall, which allows guests to watch multiple sporting events at once. If not everyone in your family are into the soccer, let the kids play with the arcade games, foosball, hoops, or hit the pool table!
