Event Promotion Guidelines


Please read carefully, so you understand our guidelines and meet them accordingly. We offer free and paid event promotions.

Free Event Promotions (Not Guaranteed)

The free event promotions are NOT GUARANTEED. We curate the list each week choosing events we feel celebrate local and help residents feel connected to community and fun.

We know all events are special and unique but we can’t list them all. All decisions on what is included in the weekly email list and monthly blog post is solely to the discretion of the This is Raleigh team, and we will not enter into any correspondence over it. Submitting your event does not guarantee inclusion in the list.

We’re looking for events that are inclusive, share diverse stories, celebrate and support local, and are culturally and historically significant.

At this time, we only offer free placements in our monthly events post, weekly events, and weekly newsletter sharing events.

Paid Event Promotions (Guaranteed Placement)

If you purchase an advertising package, your event is guaranteed to be promoted via our channels.

  • Paid event listings will take the top featured places within the blog posts and email newsletter. The blog post is organized into weekly events, to make it easier for our readers to plan their weeks.
  • We may have more than one sponsored listing, so order will be first come first served.
  • All paid listings will be tagged as Sponsored to ensure we are following FTC regulations and are transparent with our readers.
  • Submission and payment must be made before publication.
  • This Is Raleigh reserves the right to deny any listing before payment. We will inform you if we don’t think it’s a good fit. We want to ensure it’s a win for you and our community. We will email for final approval and payment steps.
  • We offer discounts for those who want to advertise their monthly event for 6 months (10% off) or 12 months (20%). As we are a rapidly growing publication, this is a good way to lock in current rates. Logically, our rates will increase as our email list and website traffic expands.
  • We can also offer discounts if you wanted a combination of the following offerings.
  • We also have ambassador packages, which offer great ROI through a long-term partnership and repeated exposure via our channels, which can include event promotion. See more here.

Attending your Event

We're asked frequently to attend events for the purpose of promoting them. This consumes a vast amount of our resources, and we cannot dedicate this time to attending and promoting an event without benefit to our business.

Unless it aligns with our specific content or monetization strategy, we cannot attend unless it's part of a paid advertising package that we offer.

Please fill out the form below to submit your event with all relevant details. Images only need to be uploaded for paid submissions (not including the weekly email. We don’t include images for that!)

Submission and payment must be made by the 25th of each month for the following month inclusion and by Wednesday each week before our Friday weekly newsletter.

DO NOT submit any event for the months following the next month. i.e. If it’s July, then I’ll take submissions for August. If you send events for Sept, Oct, Nov, and so forth, they will be ignored. That’s way too much information at once for me to filter through. Overwhelm leads to nonaction or a DELETE remedy.

We will be in contact with payment information, image requests, or any questions that we may have. If you have requested PAID promotion and you do not hear from us within two days, please email cazcraig[@]ThisisRaleigh{dot}com as something has gone wrong in cyber space. Please check all spam folders first!
