So many people are surprised by Raleigh when they first visit. As a capital city, you’d expect it to be bustling, polluted, and chaotic-feeling — but it’s very far from it. It’s green, it’s evolving, it’s lively without feeling overwhelming, and quite often, people plan to stay for a few days and end up staying longer.

If you’re one of those people, then you may be looking for extended-stay hotels in Raleigh. These are hotels designed for people who need somewhere to base themselves long-term and come with all the benefits of a modern home. Whether you’re relocating for a role at one of the tech giants in Research Triangle Park, taking a short-term contract in the city, renovating your home in Raleigh, or simply testing the waters before committing to a lease, Raleigh’s extended-stay options are designed for people who need to unpack their bags, not the rushed suitcase-on-the-bed travelers.
In the below guide, we’ll share with you Raleigh’s best extended-stay hotels — from polished, amenity-rich suites to budget-conscious options, so you can find a place that feels less like a temporary home away from home.
America Suites

The most well-known brand of long-term stay hotels in Raleigh is the Extended Stay America Suites, which offers practical, comfortable, and affordable accommodations. They have two locations in Raleigh — one in Midtown/North Raleigh and another on Wake Towne Drive — both of which are ideally located. In Wake Town Drive, you are ideally situated near the Research Triangle Park, whereas the Midtown location has a more urban feel, putting you close to shopping centers such as North Hills, and still being a short drive from downtown.
Each suite comes with a fully equipped kitchen, free Wi‑Fi, and a dedicated workspace, making it easy to cook, work remotely, and settle in without the usual hotel constraints. You can also benefit from on-site laundry facilities, weekly housekeeping, and some rooms are pet-friendly, so you can bring your dog along with you. As it is a hotel, you do get the benefit of a complimentary grab-and-go breakfast each day, as well as a 24-hour front desk and free parking.
Extended Stay America Suites are only a 2.5-star hotel, so accommodation is basic, but comfortable and clean. The affordable price tag is hard to beat if you need somewhere for a week or so that doesn’t break the bank.
Home2 Suites

If you’re looking for an extended‑stay option that has a bit more of a modern flair, Home2 Suites by Hilton has several locations in Raleigh (North I‑540, Raleigh West Lenovo Center, and Crabtree), which collectively offer a welcoming, well‑equipped experience. The suites are spacious and have a thoughtful design, with a seating area, plus a kitchenette with a microwave, a full-size fridge/freezer, crockery, and a coffee machine.
The vibe across all the locations is relaxed and practical, with pet‑friendly policies and perks like free parking and EV charging stations, business centers, and free breakfast included. Home2 Suites by Hilton Raleigh North I‑540 is a standout because it has a heated indoor pool, 24‑hour fitness center, and a location near Triangle Town Center, which is ideal for shopping, dining, and hanging out.
Candlewood Suites

Candlewood Suites has two locations in the Triangle, Crabtree and Wake Forest, both of which have signature apartment‑style suites with full kitchens and a dining space. Some suites have separate bedrooms, which really feel like apartment living.
Amenities across both locations tick all the boxes for long‑term comfort: complimentary high‑speed Wi‑Fi, on‑site laundry facilities, and a well‑equipped fitness center. At Crabtree, you’ll find extras like a gazebo with outdoor grills and the Candlewood Cupboard, a self‑service market with quick bites whenever you need them. Candlewood also offers weekly housekeeping and has a pet‑friendly policy.
At Candlewood, you get the freedom to live on your own terms, from cooking to coming and going without the constraints of a lease, but still have the benefits of a hotel, such as a fitness center and accessible rooms. It’s designed for genuine comfort and convenience.
Homewood Suites

If you’re settling into Raleigh for a few weeks or months and want a home‑like base with a dose of Southern hospitality, Homewood Suites is the one. There are a few locations in Raleigh, Raleigh-Durham Airport, Crabtree Valley, and Raleigh Downtown, all of which blend spacious living with thoughtful extras tailored for extended stays. With generously sized suites with separate living areas and fully equipped kitchens, it’s designed to make you feel at home the minute you open the door.
At the Crabtree Valley location, you’re within a short distance from Raleigh’s largest shopping mall and can receive a complimentary hot breakfast every morning, plus be able to join an evening social event on select weekdays. It also has an outdoor pool and fitness center. Whereas downtown Homewood Suites has a more urban extended‑stay experience. It has a fitness center (no pool) and offers daily breakfast, but the biggest draw is the rooftop bar, Urban Oak, which has incredible views over downtown.
Hyatt House

For something a bit more polished, Hyatt House has a few locations in Raleigh that offer luxury extended stay living. The locations in Raleigh Downtown / Seaboard Station, North Hills, and RDU / Brier Creek bring the Hyatt brand’s signature residential‑style sensibility to life.
Suites are spacious and come with full kitchens, a generous living space, and a good-sized bathroom. Free hot breakfast is offered every morning, and each location has a fitness center and relaxing pool to help keep your fitness routine on track. We especially love the North Hills location, which has a cozy area with a fire pit. Many locations have 24‑hour markets for snacks and essentials, as well as laundry facilities and pet‑friendly policies.
Residence Inn

The Residence Inn has comfortable, lived‑in suites that feel like a home rather than just a temporary room. Operated by the Marriott brand, you can expect a more refined and polished style, and a myriad of amenities that cater to your every need. With locations in Downtown, Crabtree Valley, and Raleigh‑Durham Airport/Brier Creek, all suites have thoughtful layouts, full kitchens, and working spaces. Each morning, a complimentary full breakfast is a good way to start the day, and come the evening, if you don’t feel like sampling Raleigh’s restaurant scene, there is an on‑site restaurant to get a quick bite.
Each location has free Wi‑Fi and a fitness center, and all are located with good transport links to the I-40 and RTP.
I had a friend who stayed in the Residence Inn Downtown Raleigh for nine months while her home was restored from water damage. She obviously got tired of hotel living but was happy with the Residence Inn for the suite space and downtown location. Here is our review of the Residence Inn Downtown Raleigh – we like it as a Raleigh hotel choice. We also love their 10th & Terrace brunch and rooftop bar
TownPlace Suites

Another extended‑stay hotel by the Marriott brand is TownePlace Suites, who have a location in the University Area and another in nearby Cary/Weston Parkway. Like the aforementioned Residence Inn, it has roomy suites with all the practical touches of home, but I would say it\s a little less polished than the Residence Inn.
However, rooms are designed around spacious, apartment‑style living and have fully equipped kitchens, free high‑speed Wi‑Fi, and a generous living and work area. Rooms are basic but not sterile, and I would say the living space is more spacious in TownPlace than Residence Inn, so if you do a home workout and need floor-space for press-ups, TownPlace has it.
Or, you could use the on-site 24-hour fitness center, which has a few machines and free weights, which is ideal for a week or so, but if you plan to stay longer, you might want something better equipped. There are also laundry facilities, lots of free parking, and a daily buffet breakfast served each day.
The location in the University Area, just off I‑40, puts you well‑placed for easy drives to downtown Raleigh, the events at the Lenovo Center, or the university campus.
WoodSpring Suites

Lastly, if you’re on an incredibly tight budget, WoodSpring Suites has three locations, one in Northeast Raleigh near Wake Forest, one near Raleigh-Durham International Airport, and another closer to Garner, all prioritising affordability without giving up key comforts. WoodSpring’s suites are no‑frills, but not soulless. They are clean without feeling like a hospital or care home, and have all the mod cons you need, such as a kitchen equipped with a refrigerator, stovetop, microwave, and prep space, and a small living space to unwind in.
You’ll find complimentary high‑speed Wi‑Fi, free parking, and on‑site laundry facilities, and some properties have a simple fitness room with a couple of machines and free weights. What makes WoodSpring Suites stand out is the sheer simplicity and affordable price tag. If you are only staying for a couple of weeks or don’t mind staying in a plainer environment, then give WoodSpring Suites your consideration. Another bonus of staying here is you are near our favorite coffee shop in the Triangle, Fount Coffee & Kitchen.
