Where to watch the Carolina Hurricanes Stanley Cup Final in Raleigh: Best watch parties

The sirens are back. Red shirts on every patio. The flag in our front yard hasn’t come down since the Canes swept Ottawa, then Philly, then ran through Montreal in five.

We watched the Canes lift the Cup in 2006 and took that memory back to Australia with us. Told the story more times than anyone there wanted to hear. Bars packed full of red. The rest of the league had been calling us the redneck hockey team, and Raleigh answered with ice skills and madly cheering fans. We were actually on the road for the final game itself, watching from a bar somewhere in the US, cheering madly with strangers.

20-years later the Canes are back in a Stanley Cup Final, and the city is louder than I’ve heard it. A small confession from me: I’ll be in California with my youngest on a national park hiking trip for the last three games of this run. Which is why I’m quietly rooting for the Canes to close this out in four!

Tickets to the games themselves are stratospheric. Game 1 resale was clearing $17,000 in some sections. The good news for the rest of us: Raleigh has built a watch party scene that’s almost better than the arena. Free concerts on the South Plaza, an outdoor screen in Moore Square, Glenwood Avenue closed off for a giant TV, and a list of Canes bars where the crowd does the chanting for you.

Below is every Carolina Hurricanes watch party in Raleigh for the 2026 Stanley Cup Final. What’s happening, what it costs, and what you need to know before you go.

Saturday night at the Tap Yard, and honestly? The game had lost us. Canes down 4-0 in the third, conversation had taken over. Then a commotion. We looked up. “Wait, it says 2-0. When did they get the other goal? How did we miss that?”

And right as we were piecing it together, they scored again. Three goals in 39 seconds. A new record. Now we had a game.

And what a finish — 20 minutes of overtime, then Vegas won on a horrible home goal. Gut-wrenching way to lose, but what a comeback. What a showing. If the Canes can bring that same energy to the first and second period, they can win this. I genuinely don’t know why their trend is to sleepwalk through the first two periods and wake up in the third, but with Bussi coming in at goal, maybe that changes. I feel for Andersen — he’s grieving and that’s real — but the team needs this shift right now.

Game 4 is in Vegas on Tuesday, June 9 at 8 p.m. It’s a road game, so the watch party setup shifts. These are the official Hurricanes watch parties. The team-sanctioned, full-production parties with screens, vendors, and a crowd that knows the words to every Canes chant.

Lenovo Center, South Plaza and inside the arena

• Lenovo Center Watch Parties 1400 Edwards Mill Rd, Raleigh

This is the closest you can get to being inside the game without paying ticket-broker money. For home games (Games 1, 2, and 5 if needed), the Canes set up screens on the South Plaza outside the arena. Brothers Osborne is playing a free pregame concert at 5:30pm before Game 1, no ticket needed. Food and drinks are for sale on-site, bathrooms are open, and the building is right there if you want to soak in the noise from inside.

For away games (3, 4, and 6 if needed), the watch parties move inside the Lenovo arena, on the videoboard. Tickets are $10, all proceeds go to the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation. Discounted concessions are available.

Good to know: No outside food, drinks, chairs, weapons, or illegal substances at the South Plaza party. Parking for home-game watch parties starts at $60 (buy parking tickets here). Moore Square & Red Hat Amphitheater, Downtown Raleigh

• Moore Square Watch Party 200 S Blount St, Raleigh, NC 27601

Downtown Raleigh Alliance and the City of Raleigh are hosting official watch parties in Moore Square for Games 1, and 2.Big screen, downtown setting, beer and wine and food for purchase from local vendors. Free entry, walk-up only. Bring a chair or a blanket and stake your spot. The park opens at 7pm for the 8pm puck drop, with a pre-game show starting at 7:30 p.m.

GAME 5 on June 11: the Official Hurricanes Watch Party will move to Red Hat Amphitheater, hosted by @raleighgov!
Doors open at 6:30 PM and puck drop is at 8 PM.

Good to know: Enjoy Canes-themed items on the menus at the bars and food truck. The Red Hat Amp food truck and concessions cooking up some face-off favorites with @hollywoodtacoshop and @tworoosters joining in on the fun! Outdoor screen watch parties in Glenwood South

The Avenue’s outdoor screen is the reason Glenwood Avenue is closed on home-game nights. A giant TV gets set up, the street fills with red, and it turns into a block party with a hockey game in the middle. Drinks, food, and a crowd that treats every save like a goal. Good to know: Get there early on home-game nights. Glenwood Avenue closures bring a heavy crowd. The screen is positioned so you can watch from the street or from the bar’s own patio. Smoky Hollow

Smoky Hollow is running Hollow Hangs for the Cup Final, an outdoor watch party with screens set up in the development’s courtyard. Free entry. Bring a chair. Food and drinks come from the local tenants on-site, so you’re not stuck with one menu.

Good to know: The space is more family-friendly than the bar-heavy Glenwood South strip a few blocks down. Good pick if you’re bringing kids or you want to be able to actually hear the people you came with. Limited natural shade, so plan for the early-evening sun.

Classic Canes bars

These are the bars Raleigh has been watching hockey in for years. The crowds know the routine. The bartenders know the regulars. The TVs are positioned for it.

Carolina Ale House (multiple locations)

Carolina Ale House Multiple Triangle locations. Cary flagship at 2240 Walnut St, Cary, NC 27518.

Carolina Ale House has been the official Canes watch party partner for over 20 years. The Cary location is the official Canes road-game watch venue for the Stanley Cup Final, with Stormy the mascot, the Storm Squad hype crew, prizes, giveaways, and wing-eating contests during games. Other Triangle locations are showing every game with full Canes programming.

Good to know: The Cary flagship gets packed. Arrive very early for a seat with a TV in your line of sight. Multiple smaller locations across Raleigh (Brier Creek, Glenwood, Six Forks, Crossroads) give you a backup if Cary is full. Big TVs, big crowd, family-friendly during the early innings of a watch party, less so by the third period.

We’ve watched Canes games here before and the atmosphere is rocking. Owned and operated by Bates Battaglia (former Carolina Hurricane) and Anthony Battaglia (former professional hockey player), and both Amazing Race 22 grand prize winners. With its massive front and back patio and over 40-foot main bar inside, Teets has multiple TVs plus a giant projection screen for hockey and other sports. They’ll have a party rocking for every Cup Finals game with huge TVs, sound on, ice-cold drinks, and a crowd that brings playoff energy all night long.

Good to know: The back patio is the move if you want to actually see the projection screen without the standing-room crush at the front bar. Pool table, cornhole, and darts inside if you want something to do between periods. The bar is named for the Battaglias’ grandfather Sam “Teets” Battaglia, the Chicago Outfit boss, so the wall art is part of the experience.

Raleigh Beer Garden

The Glenwood South Canes bar with the Guinness World Record for most beers on tap (386+). Massive front and back patios, a 40-foot main bar, and screens positioned for hockey. The kind of place where 6 friends can all order something different and nobody complains. Good to know: Vegetarian and gluten-free options on the menu but limited, ask the kitchen. The back patio is the play if you want to actually see the game without the standing-room crush of the front bar. Pet-friendly on the patio.

Hibernian Pub (Downtown and North Raleigh)

• Hibernian Pub Downtown: 311 Glenwood Ave, Raleigh, NC 27603. North Raleigh: 1144 Town Ctr Dr, Raleigh, NC 27612.

An Irish pub with rooftop dining at the Downtown location and a real outdoor patio. Hibernian has been a Raleigh sports-watching staple for years. Guinness on tap, Irish food, the kind of place where a stranger at the next table will high-five you after a goal. Good to know: Downtown location is your pick for walking access to other Glenwood South spots before or after the game. North Raleigh location is the play if you live north of 540 and don’t want the downtown parking dance. Both have outdoor seating, both have enough TVs.

The Brass Tap, Downtown Raleigh

The newest spot on this list. The Brass Tap opened its first North Carolina location in downtown Raleigh in late 2024, with 45 beers on tap plus a full liquor bar. All the sports on the TVs, welcoming vibe, walking distance to Glenwood South, fantastic owner (Niraz from Nepal) tell him Craig from @ThisIsRaleigh sent you!

Good to know: Good pick if you want a beer-forward experience. Central to downtown Raleigh and closer to Union Station than Glenwood, so easier escape route after the game. Craig loves their pretzels. Othe great bar food options – wings, burgers, pizza.

Sports & Social Cary at Fenton

• Sports & Social 110 Tournament Dr, Cary, NC 27518

A 19,000-square-foot sports bar at Fenton in Cary with a 42-foot LED media wall. If you want the biggest screen experience outside of an actual arena, this is it. The Carolina Hurricanes Alumni Association has run watch parties here in the past. Made-from-scratch menu, arcade games, shuffle puck, skeeball. At this Canes watch party expect the chance to sound the siren, $5 Jägermeister shots, $10 Jägermeister bombs, and Cat 5 Crush specialty cocktail, and $40 beer towers (Miller Lite / Coors Light / Coors Banquet)

Good to know: Fenton parking is structured and free. Sports & Social books up for big games, so make a reservation if you can. The 42-foot screen is the centerpiece, but the surrounding smaller screens mean every seat has a view.

Rooftop bar in downtown Raleigh with big screens, craft cocktails, and games (ping pong, electric shuffleboard, electric darts, beer pong) you can reserve while you watch. Walk-up entry, no cover charge. Good food, better cocktails, one of the best rooftop atmospheres downtown. Good to know: The rooftop is the pick on a clear night. Reserve a game ahead of time if you want to play, the popular ones (shuffleboard, darts) go fast on game nights. Best for a group that wants to watch but also wants something to do between periods.

Tap Yard Raleigh

• Tap Yard Raleigh 1610 Automotive Way, Raleigh, NC 27604

Neighborhood beer garden in East Raleigh that turned into a Canes watch destination during the playoff run. Outdoor TVs, live music nights, dogs welcome, the kind of place that feels like a Saturday hangout that happens to be showing the Stanley Cup Final. Good to know: East Raleigh location means easier parking than downtown. The outdoor setup is the draw, so weather matters. Bring layers for a late-evening game. Family-friendly until later in the night.

Tips for a Canes watch party in Raleigh

A few things worth knowing before you head out.

• Wear red. Not negotiable. Even at the rooftop bars and the rest-of-Fenton spots. The city has gone full red-out.
• Arrive early for home games. Lenovo South Plaza, Moore Square, and The Avenue all draw heavy. 60 to 90 minutes before puck drop is the sweet spot.
• For Lenovo South Plaza, leave the chair at home. Outside chairs aren’t permitted. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and a layer for after sundown.
• Parking gets brutal downtown for home games. Park at a Glenwood South lot before 5 p.m., or take rideshare. Lenovo Center home-game parking starts at $60. Lenovo away-game watch party parking is FREE.
• Bring earplugs if you’re sound-sensitive. The sirens after a Canes goal at any of these venues are loud on purpose. Worth knowing if you’re with a kid or anyone noise-sensitive.
• Vegas fans, be cool. The crowd will be loud, the chants will be at you, but Raleigh is a friendly hockey town. The Battaglia brothers (former Canes) co-own Lcuky B’s and Teets. The pub culture is welcoming. Just don’t wear gold.
