14+ Exciting Direct Flights from Raleigh (from RDU to anywhere)

As a Raleigh resident and world traveler with 50+ countries and 35 states under my belt, I’m always interested in researching the direct flights from Raleigh for my next trip. Whether you’re a local looking to explore new destinations or a traveler planning to visit Raleigh, let’s uncover what non-stop flights are currently available to inspire your wanderlust.

Even though our local Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) is not a major hub like Atlanta or Chicago, since first moving here in 2004, the direct flight options have improved immensely and when we want to get away from Raleigh, we can pretty much fly anywhere easily enough.

RDU airport continues to add direct flights to new destinations such as Frankfurt and Mexico City in 2024, and with the 25-year master plan for growth including runway and terminal expansions, I’m excited about the potential for more routes opening up in the future which will make living in Raleigh more convenient for frequent travelers like us!

When it comes to nonstop flights from Raleigh, over the years I’ve had to make my fair share of connections to get to my final destination, but I always prefer to fly direct as much as possible to save on time, especially if it’s a dream trip to a destination where I don’t have a lot of time on the ground. And it also reduces the chance of your check-in luggage going missing!

In this post I’ll share a select few of the 45+ direct domestic flights, and 7 direct international flights to inspire your wanderlust (see the fill list at bottom of this article). We flew from Raleigh to London in 2022, and to Paris in 2023, and as someone who grew up in Australia, I absolutely love the easier access we now have to Europe!
